Biography
Mrs. ElGindy is an independent consultant and
trainer in health, nursing, cross-culture, education, and business
entrepreneurship. She is the owner and founder of the TransCultural
Educational Center (TEC) since 1986. Born in Egypt, Mrs. ElGindy
earned her master degree from the Catholic University of America,
and has practiced nursing and business in Africa, Asia, and the
United States for the past thirty years.
Her experience encompasses a unique
combination of consultation, educational, & business activities in
public & government sectors, as well as in academic & non-academic
settings. Working in several countries with different age groups,
genders, ethnic and educational backgrounds have given her the
insight and sensitivity toward understanding and meeting customers'
unique needs.
She has been recognized as an advocate for
nurses, women, and the Muslim community. Also, she initiated the
process of developing a series of cross cultural and health care
guide publications for the Americans, Muslims, and non-Muslim
population. She has established the process of placing Islamic and
Arabic books in the US Public Libraries in four states, University
libraries, Fairfax High School libraries, and Howard Divinity School
library.
Her achievements, associations, and
contributions have been recognized at national and international
levels by Who's Who in American Nursing, Who’s Who in Business, and
Sigma Theta Tau International. She was inducted to Sigma Theta Tau
International Honor Society of Nursing and has selected to be a
media spokesperson for Sigma Theta Tau in Cross-Cultural and Manage
Care issues for the last five years. She is a consultant and a
writer for three professional health magazines, published over 15
different articles, involved in writing & translating Islamic books
about Islam, other faiths, and cross cultural issues for different
associations. One of the published article resulted in changing a
national policy to be culturally sensitive for Muslim health care
providers.
Alongside these achievements, she has been
interviewed by several radio stations and media representatives, has
appeared as a keynote speaker on numerous television shows, such as
Fox TV, Al-Jazeera satellite channel, PBS, hosted 34 Arabic
Educational TV shows for ANA/MBC, and has been involved in
televising international distant learning forum for the USIA/Voice
of America. Mrs. ElGindy is a well-known energetic public speaker
who has delivered countless education and training programs in both
English and Arabic at national and international levels.
